Based on the success of the previous two Summer Academies, we proudly announce the organization of this years
SAE Summer Academy on Energy with the title of The Energy After Tomorrow.


The SAE Summer Academy on Energy will be held from 14th to 19th August, 2016, in Budapest, Hungary.  The main goal of the summer academy is to make a medium term energy strategy for a fictional country and to modify this plan on the go according to a major crisis that affects the whole energy production.

- Motivational letter
- Recommendation from a professor of your university


DEADLINES:

Early-bird application deadline: 12th June

Notification of acceptance for early-bird registration : 15th June

Application deadline: 26th June

Notification of registration: 29th June
 



     

Fees


- Early-bird registration fee, with a shared double room accommodation (with a same-gender participant): 330 €


- Full registration fee (after the eary-bird reg. deadline) with a shared double room accommodation (with a same-gender participant): 380€


- Private room extra charge (added to the basic fee): +60 €

Program, topics included


The main goal is to provide an opportunity to participating students to get acquainted with power grids. The main task of the summer academy is to make a medium term energy strategy for a fictional country based on the knowledge acquired from the following lectures.


Lectures:
Medium-term energy strategies: Basics of energy strategy planning, previous and present trends, changes in the world market
EU 2020, 2030 Energy Strategies: Summary of EU's 20/20/20 targets and feasibility of the target numbers for 2030.
Basic economic calculations: The main principles of the economic calculations in particular the energy sector.
• Crisis handling: General handing of natural disasters and technological crises in industrial environment.
•  Case studies: Crisis management case studies from all around the world


The main task of the summer academy is to make a medium term energy strategy for a fictional country and to modify this plan on the go according to a major crisis that affects the whole energy production.

Beyond the professional development, this event wants to provide an opportunity for students, working on different fields of engineering, to make international contacts with other talented students.
